Gordon Buchanan has filmed unforgettable natural history footage in the world's most far-reaching places for over 30 years – from wild 'snow wolf' packs in Ellesmere to leopards in Mumbai. His dedication to his craft has meant he often spends weeks inside a cramped camera hide, tolerating extreme sleep deprivation and poor living conditions, all in search of that one extraordinary shot.
But dangerous animals were not the only thing he was hiding from.
In the Hide is Gordon's best-selling account of a challenging childhood in Glasgow and Mull, and the escape and solace he found – and continues to find – in the natural world around him. Emotionally honest and raw, and filled with Gordon’s trademark wry humour, it is a wildlife story like no other.

Our book club venue is currently at our bookshop.
The book club will run from 4-5.15pm
Our book club is free. All we ask is that you buy the book from us, but of course, we don't insist.
The paperback is available in the shop.
